Brooks Lennon leads way as U.S. halts Haiti in U-20 tournament

SAN JOSE, Costa Rica -- Real Salt Lake midfielder Brooks Lennon scored a hat trick as the U.S. took a 4-1 victory over Haiti in the CONCACAF U-20 Championship Tuesday night.

The U.S. (1-1-0, 3 points), second place heading into Friday's Group B finale vs. St. Kitts and Nevis, fell behind against the run of play as Kenley Dede finished from inside the penalty area in the 15th minute. The USA equalized as Jonathan Lewis earned a penalty kick, Lennon converting in the 28th minute.

The U.S. broke the deadlock as Luca de la Torre finished from the top of the penalty area off a Lennon corner kick in the 52nd minute. A turnover on the left led to Lennon's second goal in the 53rd minute. Lennon scored on the rebound of a de la Torre shot in the 58th minute.

Combined with Panama's 4-0 win over St. Kitts and Nevis, the U.S. moved into second place thanks to a plus-2 goal differential.
