CONCACAF Gold Cup finalizes venues for quarters, semis

Gold Cup knockout rounds will be staged in the Dallas, Los Angeles, Philadelphia and Phoenix metropolitan areas, CONCACAF announced Tuesday.

Quarterfinal doubleheaders are set for Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia July 19 and Glendale, Ariz., July 20. The semifinals will be at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, July 22 and the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, Calif., July 23.

The tournament will kick off at Red Bull Arena in Harrison, N.J., July 7 and the final is set at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif., July 26.

Top seeded teams will be Copa Centroamericana champion Honduras (Group A), the U.S. (Group B) and Mexico (Group C). Honduras will play in the opening doubleheader and in group matches in Houston (July 11) and Dallas (July 14).

Canada, Costa Rica, Curacao, El Salvador, French Guiana, Honduras, Jamaica, Martinique, Mexico, Panama and the U.S. have qualified. Haiti and Nicaragua will meet in a home-and-away series for the final spot.

“With the announcement of the knockout round venues, we complete the picture of world class stadiums for this year’s Gold Cup,” CONCACAF General Secretary Philippe Moggio said. “We know these host cities and the stadiums themselves will provide the atmosphere and facilities to match the enthusiasm of the fans they will welcome this summer.”
