July 30, 2010 EYEING EVERTON Donovan might go back to English club
Landon Donovan might be looking at a return to Everton, according to the English team’s web site.
Donovan played 13 games with the English club on loan during the Los Angeles Galaxy offseason.
"I would love to go back to Everton. I love the people there and I love the fans there,” Donovan said . “But that said, I love being in America too, so we are going to take everything into account and see where it ends up.
"Anything is possible at this stage and I'm going to make the decision that's best for me. We hear little bits and pieces here and there and there have certainly been clubs that are interested, but right now, it's only preliminary.”
Since his starring role for the United States at this summer’s World Cup in South Africa, Donovan has been the subject of transfer rumors linking him to clubs across Europe.
"There's still a lot of time left in the transfer window, so we'll see what moves are made and, if it's serious, then we'll treat it seriously."
The 28-year-old Donovan had two goals during his January to March spell with the Blues, becoming a fan favorite at Goodison Park.
Major League Soccer commissioner Don Garber has said the league is not interested in selling Donovan, who has become one of its marquee players.
