Chivas’ Kennedy helps preserve tie

A second half save to keep the game scoreless has earned Chivas USA goalkeeper Dan Kennedy the LA Soccer News Save of the Week for the week ending July 25.

In the 64th minute, Kennedy made a leaping two-handed reaction save on an Alvaro Saborio attempt, pushing the ball out for a corner. Unfortunately, the corner kick by Javier Morales resulted in RSL’s goal.

Later in the game with the score tied 1-1, Kennedy made a quick save on a shot by Jamison Olave that deflected off defender Ben Zemanski.
