All Whites forward heads UCSB list
SANTA BARBARA, Calif. -- Coach Tim Vom Steeg and the UC Santa Barbara men's program added depth to one of the most experienced returning groups in the country with the addition of six freshman signing National Letters of Intent.
Forward Noah Billingsley, a New Zealand international, heads the list. Also signing were Beachside SC and Right to Dream Academy midfielder Daniel Amo (Fairfield, Conn.); forward Milo Barton, son of former Newcastle United defender and Fox Sports announcer Warren Barton; defender Lamar Batista (Edmond, Okla.); midfielder Sebastien Des Pres (Encinitas, Calif.); New York Red Bulls defender Kyle Perno (New Hyde Park, N.Y.);
"The freshmen in this year's recruiting class have all played in big games during their amateur careers and should be prepared for the rigors of Division I soccer," Vom Steeg said. "UCSB soccer fans will be pleased with the brand of soccer our new recruits will be bringing to the central coast."
UCSB's squad, which featured one senior in the opening day starting XI, advanced to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament and featured the regular season's top goal-scorer in Nick DePuy.
Also, three transfers are expected to join the Gauchos.
