Gauchos lose to Mexico U-20s
SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – After battling to a 1-1 tie in regulation time with the UCSB men’s soccer team, the Mexico U-20 National Team outshot the Gauchos, 3-1, in a penalty kick shootout on Friday night at Meredith Field at Harder Stadium in front of a crowd of 4,188.

Martino lifts LMU 2-1 over Denver
Freshman Tawni Martino scored the first two goals of her collegiate career, including the game-winner in the 86th minute, to lift LMU to a 2-1 victory over Denver University in the home opener at Sullivan Field. The Lions (1-1-0) gain their first victory of the season against the Pioneers, who were playing their season opener.

LMU gets nod from WCC coaches
For the first time in the program's history, LMU has been selected as the preseason favorite in the West Coast Conference in the 2010 men's soccer preseason poll. The Lions garnered three first place votes to nip Portland, San Diego, and Saint Mary's in a tight race atop the poll. The coaches also voted LMU seniors Rafael Baca and Vincent Ocampo to the preseason all-conference team

LMU brings in three
Loyola Marymount University women's soccer head coach Joe Mallia has completed his recruiting for the 2010 season with the late-spring addition of three more players. Incoming freshmen Marta Tena and Darien Pyka, along with sophomore transfer Rachel Fell, will add to the forward and midfield lines and bring the Lions' 2010 recruiting class to nine players.
